They are much smaller than their parents, and a lot less aggressive. Keep your eyes peeled for hatchlings as you wander the banks of the southern river. One of the most beneficial aspects of a crocodile pet in Conan Exiles is that you are always able to walk over them, no more getting stuck in doorways or caves. Their attack is low, but they can stack bleed up to an impressive 20 times! This makes them weak against multiple opponents but very powerful against one (as long as they are not undead). The hatchlings are easy to come by on the shores of F4 and G4, wandering next to their parents on the “newb river”. They are the first viable pet the player has access to and a great pet for new players to tame and level with. Snappy and fierce, the crocodile has many benefits as a combat companion in Conan Exiles. It is fitting that once your animal pen is constructed, they are the first great animal companion you’ll be able to reach to raise in it. Short of accidentally running into a shaleback boss, they are the first real challenge for new exiles and their reptile hide will take your tannery operation to the next level. It feels great when you take your first crocodile down.

I’d gotten the aggressive shaleback combat series down to memory and was beating them to death with a stone axe when I heard my first ominous hiss coming from behind me. By the time you find a croc, you had probably gotten a little confidence fighting shalebacks and imps in the area. I cannot recommend this tourist site.I think we all remember our first crocodile run-in as brand new exiles wandering the banks of the Exiled Land’s southern river. The price for the cruise is reasonable IF you spot crocs but a waste of your time if crocs are not at least spotted. After the cruise there is an adjacent Wetlands Visitor Center which has not much to offer but it is free. Safety is emphasized by the staff who insist that the guests keep their hands and feet inside the boat.

Prior to the cruise there was an opportunity to have a cup of coffee or tea or water free of charge. The guide aboard the boat would sometimes move to one end of the boat to provide some narrative but the guests at the other end of the boat could not hear her talk. The boat used was comfortable and provided two rows of seats for good viewing.

KUDOS CROCS DRIVER

The driver noted that the Adelaide River has 10,000 crocs but he did not move further down the river to attempt to entice another, perhaps more hungry, croc.

Although the boat driver kept maneuvering the boat around the obviously not so hungry croc, the croc was not interested. During the mid morning one-hour "cruise" we saw ONE saltwater croc and he refused to jump or eat. Sitting in the middle of the wetlands in the Beatrice Hill area, near Humpty Doo or about a 45 minute drive outside of Darwin, is this popular tourist destination. It was OK but the boats railing got in many of my photos. Best seats are probably on the front row near the front of the boat NOT in the middle due to crew partial blockage during feeding, right or left side. JUST A NOTE: No standing up anywhere unless you are told it is OK for safety as you can imagine. Flies can be a nuance at times and repellent does not work on flies. Kudos to this company for providing such a great tour! Worth you coming, rain or shine! Free water provided. The company looks to be doing well and are expanding their operation with building a new facility at the dock. The captain starts each croc stop on one side of the boat then turns the boat around to the other side so everyone can see some action. The boat was a new customized aluminum pontoon tour boat that provided great two level seating for good viewing for everyone. Loved the whole tour! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! MY RATING: 10/10+ Company has a very dedicated staff who love these crocs. Got tons of great shots! Also saw eagles & other birds. We saw many crocs on our 1.5 hour afternoon out on the river. Each croc in this part of the river is known by the crew and has an actual name! We were amazed at how big these "salties" (what locals call salt water crocodiles) really were! The company name says it all "Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise" because that is exactly what we got! BOTTOM LINE: You have got to do this fun, fun tour!! You will be blown away at see these crocs come up to the boat and be tempted by the staff using a LONG pole with fresh meat to get these crocs to rise and jump out of the water for a "snack". The entire crew and captain did an outstanding job of education, narration and finding the crocs. FANTASTCI! We loved the whole adventure on the Adelaide River.
